Katerina: You can find me on Anthomeli as Kathy. I am a wife and a mother of two children. I live in Thessaloniki and I am a piano teacher. I like drawing and art and that’s why I created the brand “We Love Pinatas” through which I have the opportunity to enrich a kid’s party with fun and joy.

Callie: I’ m a 35-year-old mother of Melita and I live in Athens with her and my dear husband, of course. I teach English to children and I am also a translator. I love making every day of my life special and blogging helped me make my dream come true through constant creations, trips, new experiences and new friends.

Mama Maria: Katerina and Callie are my lovable daughters and I am very proud of them. On Anthomeli I am the travel specialist and I sign most of the trips. Even though I am over 60 years of age, I am an active wife, mum and grandma and of course having my husband as my companion I am also a European traveler. We travel around Europe and Greece with our caravan and we can’t wait till our next destination.

TBG: What is your blog about?

Anthomeli is a family-friendly lifestyle blog which focuses on children and parenting and includes topics related to parties and celebrations, food, diy, home and more (you name it, we have it!). Travelling is an essential part of our blog as we think that it is important for kids to love trips and to see travelling as an ongoing opportunity for adventure and learning.  However, travelling is not only for kids but for adults as well. So you are going to find destination ideas for all ages and types of interests.

TBG: Why did you start your blog?

Katerina: In November 2011 I asked Callie to help me create our own blog. At that time she thought I was a lunatic! I told her that I wanted to share our ideas and creativity with the rest of the world and of course to strengthen our relationship as we live almost 600 km away from each other! Fortunately, she shared my dream and in a week we created Anthomeli (Ανθομέλι), the blog that changed our life.

TBG: What is one of your most viewed posts you’d like to share with us?

Mama Maria: Our travel section is full of posts about both international and national destinations. One of the most viewed posts is my trip to Lake Garda in Italy (international destination) and Xanthi (Greek destination).

TBG: What was one of the most memorable trips you’ve taken and written about on your blog – and why?

Callie: Some of the trips you experience in your life are really memorable not only because of the things you see but also because of the timing you decide to take that trip. The best trip I have ever had is our trip to Tuscany/Italy. One year before I got pregnant, my husband and I decided to take a 15-day road trip to the villages of Tuscany in the heart of August. The scenery, our summer mood, the road and our love made it really special. It was a dream which came true!

TBG: What do you like most about blogging about Greece?

All: Blogging about Greece is a way to promote our country and to show all its unbelievable beauties. The clean beaches, the historical sights, the hospitable villages, the tasty cuisine. We want our posts to be updated and complete. Potential tourists to learn everything with one click. There is no time to waste.

TBG: Give us one travel tip for those who have not

All: Well, one thing we could advise them is to explore as many places as they can and not only our islands. The mainland (e.g. Peloponnese or Thrace) is also unique and can offer them adventure and mountainous experiences. So thanks to our mild winter they are more than welcome in winter too.

TBG: Any advice for new bloggers?

All: Copy-Paste is the easy way. Do not follow it! Create your own material and take your own photos. Practice makes perfect!

TBG: One place in Greece AND in the world you’d love to visit in the future that you have not been to yet.

Katerina: New York to experience the magnificence of the city that never sleeps and Crete/Knossos to admire the Minoan culture and experience the hospitality of Cretan men and women.

Callie: Barcelona to experience the vibrant atmosphere of this artistic city and Paxoi to swim in the most clear blue waters in Greece.

Mama Maria: Melbourne/Australia because it’s a trip of a lifetime and Santorini to see the breathtaking sunset.

TBG: One place in the world AND in Greece you could visit over and over again.

Katerina: Thailand for the exotic and different culture and Kastoria for the picturesque lake and architecture

Callie: Tuscany  for the medieval villages and Nafplio for the tradition with a modern twist

Mama Maria: Rothenburg/Germany  as this is a real fairytale city and Zagorohoria for the great mountainous scenery and the numerous picturesque villages

TBG: If you could invite five famous people to your fabulous upcoming dinner party – who would make your list?

All: We can’t really decide who but ideally we would like them to have a sense of humour, to be enjoyable and smiling, to like music and dancing and of course to love blogging and travelling!
