TBG: What is your blog about?
Our blog is about travelling the world part-time in a responsible way and trying out as many authentic and immersive experiences as possible. We provide highly informative guides and carefully planned-out itineraries about the places we visit around the world, with a focus on Greece and Italy.
TBG: Why did you start your blog?
Ever since we started travelling together, over a decade ago, we just loved to plan our trips thoroughly and keep precious notes along the way. So, we thought why not share these notes with more people than just our close friends?
Just like that, It’s All Trip To Me was born, in an effort to inspire people with full-time jobs to travel more by helping them make the most of their vacation time, just like we do.
Last but not least, Katerina has a passion for photography while I (Maria) love to write. Therefore, by starting a travel blog we combined our passions and love for travel in the best possible way.
TBG: What is one of your most viewed posts you’d like to share with us?
Our ultimate guide to Andros Island is one of our most popular blog posts ever and for good reason. We visit Andros Island many times a year, it’s kind of a second home to us, so we know (almost) everything there is to know about this island.
TBG: What was one of the most memorable trips you’ve taken and written about on your blog — and why?
As far as our travels across Greece are concerned, Monemvasia Castle is one of the most memorable destinations we’ve ever visited. It’s an utterly enchanting place and quite unique, considering that no cars are allowed within the castle’s walls.
We found Monemvasia Castle so impressive that our first ever blog post was about the trip we took there. Which reminds us that we need to update this post ASAP!
TBG: What do you like most about blogging about Greece?
What we love about Greece the most is its diversity and the fact that, even though it’s one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations, there are still many well-kept secrets waiting to be discovered. Moreover, we love to blog about Greece because, as locals, we have the opportunity to write unique, in-depth articles about the beautiful country we call home.
TBG: Give us one travel tip for those who have not traveled to Greece yet.
Pack sunscreen, flip-flops and swimsuits all year long!
TBG: Any advice for new bloggers?
Blogging is exciting but it’s not all roses; there are times that it can get frustrating and challenging. Therefore, our advice to new bloggers would be never to start a blog unless you are really passionate about what you’re doing and, even then, you must make sure you have all the patience in the world to survive the wait until you start seeing any results.
TBG: One place in Greece AND in the world you’d love to visit in the future that you have not been to yet.
We’d love to take a slow trip across the villages of Zagori in the stunning Epirus region in Northern Greece. As for abroad, we need to plan that long-awaited trip to Cuba.
TBG: One place in the world AND in Greece you could visit over and over again.
We’ll never stop going back to Amorgos Island and Italy for as long as we live and breathe.
TBG: If you could invite five famous people to your fabulous upcoming dinner party — who would make your list?
Our goal is to promote Greece in the best possible way. Therefore, we’d love to have the opportunity to invite and have a chat with people who forge the very essence of Greece, forward its arts and civilisation and make the Greek people proud. In this spirit, allow us to turn this dinner party into an absolutely imaginary event, as most of these people are no longer with us.
Our first invitation would go out to Melina Mercouri, the most important female figure in Greek politics and a great actress with international career. Secondly, we would invite Georges Sari, the famous author, who has been shaping our personalities and worldviews since our adolescence.
Then, we would invite Manos Hatzidakis, the much loved songwriter, and we would implore him to play a few of his masterpieces on the piano for us. Of course, we would need the superb voice of Marios Frangoulis at that point.
Last but not least, we would invite Giannis Antetokounmpo because he represents the country’s future the way we’d love it to be: free from discriminations and prejudice and filled with hope and the conviction that with hard work and moral values no goal is unattainable. Oh what a night that would be!
