International Travel Bloggers Greece Trip 2018: 8 day itinerary
Day 1: Athens
Arrivals and accommodation at the Somewhere Hotel in Vouliagmeni and Athens View Lofts. Dinner in Athens and drinks in Gazi.
Day 2: Meteora
Early departure (8:30am) with a train to Kalambaka (Meteora). Todd Hata met us on the train as he was traveling from Thessaloniki. The trip was hosted by Meteora Thrones. In the afternoon we joined the Sunset tour with a visit to a few monasteries.
Dinner at a newly opened Valia Calda Restaurant serving traditional meze style dishes based on authentic recipes from the region.
Day 3: Meteora
In the morning we joined our guide Christos for a hike through the hiking trails that lead to the Holy Monastery of Ypapantis.
This small monastery opens up to impressive views of the surrounding forest and the massive limestone rock formations.
In the afternoon we took the train back to Athens. Accommodation at Herodion Hotel Athens and Philippos Hotel.
Day 4: Athens and the Athenian Riviera
In the morning our friends had time to explore Athens and to visit the Acropolis. After which they enjoyed a fantastic lunch at the Atrium Bistro of the Herodion Hotel Athens.
In the afternoon we embarked on a tour of the Athenian Riviera with Taxi Transfer Athens passing through the areas of Glyfada, Voula, and Vouliagmeni with a brief stop at the Lake Vouliagmeni following a scenic drive to the Temple of Poseidon, one of the most magical sunset spots in Athens.
We ended our evening at L’amico, an elegant Italian Restaurant by the sea in Anavissos.
Day 5: Three Island Cruise to Hydra, Poros and Aegina
We had an early morning as we boarded the VIP Lounge of the Cosmos Vessel, Evermore Cruises. Our first stop was in Hydra, the island which has no cars. Only donkeys and plenty of cats.
We had approximately two hours in Hydra after which we sailed towards Poros and enjoyed a traditional Greek lunch onboard.
Once we reached Poros we hiked up to the Clock Tower that opens up to magnificent views.
Then we sailed to Aegina the island famous for pistachios where we had a coffee break and walked around the harbour. In the evening we returned to Athens.
Day 6: Mykonos
We took the first flight to Mykonos and were there at approximately 7:15 am. During our Mykonos trip all our transportation was handled by Golden Transfers.
First stop was at our luxurious Villa Hurmuses where we had our breakfast prepared by the villa staff Ernesto and Ana Maria, a short rest and then headed to the Mykonos Vioma Winery in Ano Mera.
Mansoureh, Bruno, Todd, Chrysoula and Daryl went on a biking adventure with Dimitra (Yummy Pedals). Afterwards we enjoyed wine tasting at the family winery accompanied by traditional Myconian delights such as louza and kopanisti cheese.
After the winery we returned back to our villa where we enjoyed a relaxing afternoon by the fireplace, danced, watched the sunset and finally ended the beautiful day with a delicious dinner prepared by Ana Maria.
Day 7: Mykonos
In the morning after our hearty breakfast at the Villa Hurmuses we headed towards Mykonos Town and walked around Chora.
We then sat down for lunch, danced a bit — well this is Mykonos! In the evening we watched the sunset from Little Venice and then returned to the villa for dinner.
Day 8: Mykonos and Athens
In the morning we sailed around Delos and Rheina with Mykonos Onboard. It was a gorgeous day, no winds and Mansoureh was even brave enough to swim. In the afternoon we returned back to Athens.
